Stephenville’s Town Council is responsible for the governance of the municipality and the development of policy. General elections are held on the last Tuesday in September every four years as per the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Municipalities Act.
On September 29, 2009, Tom O’Brien returned to the Mayoral office after being voted back in for a second term, along with the following citizens, to represent the Town of Stephenville for a four year period.
