Caribou Curling Club

Curling is one of winter’s few sports that combine exercise and team camaraderie in a relaxing social atmosphere. Curling is enjoyed by over two million Canadians every year. Curling is an amazing and low cost sport for all ages. Children are encouraged to come out and try the junior program. The Caribou Curling Club is equipped to cater to parties, weddings and dinners year round.

Stephenville Dome

Stephenville Dome

The Stephenville Dome is a state of the art skating arena built in 1999 for the Canada Winter Games.This facility includes an Olympic size ice surface, fully serviced cafeteria, walking track and multi-purpose rooms.

General, adult skating and shinny hockey sessions are also offered throughout the winter season. The dome is also home to Stephenville minor hockey, a Men’s hockey league, the Stephenville Skating Club, and a Broomball league.

The regional Aquatic Center contains a 6-lane competitive leisure pool, a junior pool, tots pool, and a whirlpool. Offering water fitness, hydro therapy, swim lessons, leadership courses, general swims, and is home to competitive swim clubs.

The Bay St. George YMCA is a partnership of volunteers and staff dedicated to promoting the success of individuals, families, and communities by offering YMCA programs that build strength in Spirit, Mind and Body!

The YMCA offers a large gym, gym equipment, squash room, multipurpose room.

Sport Fields

Stephenville offers a variety of sports fields open to the public including Softball, baseball, soccer and Tennis courts. During the summer months Stephenville Minor Baseball and Stephenville Minor Soccer utilize the fields.


Harmon Seaside Links

Harmon Seaside Links Golf Course

The Harmon Seaside Links is a par 72 course ranging from 5,500 to 6,500 yards. It is comprised of four par 3’s, ten par 4’s and four par 5’s. The slope is in the vicinity of 125-130.

This unique course is adjacent to scenic Bay St.George. The natural sedge grasses and salt water lagoons all make for a challenging round of gold. Harmon Seaside Links offers your child an opportunity to learn to golf. This program is for participants with little or no golfing experience. Topics include; rules of the game, etiquette, equipment, stance, grip and swing as well as introduction to driving, chipping and putting (clubs provided).

Whaleback Nordic Ski Trail

Whaleback Nordic Ski Club

Whaleback Nordic was established in 1968 and has hosted many prestigious events from regional, provincial and national competitions.  The club offers a Jackrabbit Program, instruction for beginners and night skiing to members. The trails at Whaleback Nordic are undulating with several sections that can be classed as moderately taxing. Whaleback usually gets an abundant annual snowfall. You can expect to find new snow conditions with temperatures between -2 to -8 C; unfortunately these ideal temperatures cannot be guaranteed. There are also dedicated trails for snow walkers. Several kilometres have been stomped for this popular sport!
